Pantone Color of the Year: Greenery
Every year the king of color, Pantone, comes out with a new “Color of the Year” and this year they went with a springy shade called Greenery. Pantone has become the trusted source for color influence across many industries like fashion, interiors, manufacturing and design.
Greenery is a natural color that plays nicely with all sorts of shades but today we have some inspiration for a Pantone wedding theme using a few colors from the “forest floor” color palette.
Shades of green are prevalent at Willowdale Estate on our trim color, garden door, on the iconic north wing entrance, and of course in the trees, plants and bushes that surround our fieldstone estate. Earthy colors were popular in design for Arts & Crafts homes which is why we selected our shade of green for the trim and several doors at Willowdale Estate.
Along with the fresh and restorative properties of this color, shades of green are a natural choice for outdoor events!
In our first photo, you catch a glimpse of the ceremony location for Emily & Matthew’s wedding day photographed by Ashley O’Dell. The white flowers, garden chairs, and pretty fieldstone look wonderful surrounded by shades of vivid green. The farm table design features green glass bottles amidst a long runner of greenery.
KJ & Adam’s wedding photographed by Leona Campbell Photography also used a predominantly green and white color palate with hints of a pale blue color. The result is a very clean and modern color palette with an air of sophistication- even the best dog looks refined! When using a lot of neutral colors remember to use contrast to accentuate the details. High contrast elements (deep greens with white), texture, and simple decorations on the show-stopping focal points will go a long way! For example- The seating chart created by Antea Amoroso is has just the right amount of adornment on our beautiful Dining Room window bench. Using only white blooms for the bouquet from Karla Cassidy Designs allows the different textures and shapes of the greenery to stand out while the blooms take on a supporting role. The perfectly natural look from The Makeup Artists allows KJ’s dark hair and elegant long veil steal the show!
Keep an eye out for plenty of green garland and farm tables- the natural wedding trend is still going strong!
