Choosing Your Wedding Soundtrack Series Part Three: Parent Dances

Planning that special parent dance can be a challenging task. It could be a song that you and your mother or father find special meaning in. It could be serious and emotional OR fun and silly. Whatever song you choose, it’s always a good idea to discuss your ideas with the parent you will be dancing with ahead of time in order to find something that resonates with both of you😊.
If you would like to include a stepparent on the dance floor you can start a parent dance with one parent and invite the other to join in the second half of the song. Another way to incorporate a special member of your extended family is to plan something separate at a different point in the evening so that they each have their moment with you.
Whether your song choice is timeless, old or new, the number one rule is to have fun and cherish these special moments with your loved ones. Here are some of our suggestions!
“My Wish” Rascal Flatts
“What a Wonderful World” Louis Armstrong
“Humble and Kind” Tim McGraw
“Brown Eyed Girl” Van Morrison
“The Way You Look Tonight” Frank Sinatra
“You are the Sunshine of My Life” Stevie Wonder
“Stand by Me” Ben E. King
“Forever Young” Rod Stewart
“You’ll Be in my Heart” Phil Collins
