Briar Barn Inn – Preview Party Recap
Last month Willowdale hosted a preview party for our sister property, Briar Barn Inn, to celebrate the arrival of some of our key marketing materials with our community of wedding and event professionals. We plan to open our doors to the public this fall to enjoy our inn, restaurant, and spa so it’s the perfect time to start planning private events in 2019.
The North Shore is full of great venues and Briar Ban Inn wants to compliment that by adding a space that provides guests and locals a place to stay, dine, and relax. When we started to work on this property we also took on the new name, Bramble Hospitality, for our team of employees working at Willowdale Estate and Briar Barn Inn. As always, we’re dedicated to great food, beautiful surroundings, and exceptional service.
And speaking of great food, cocktail hour included some new items that may be featured at Briar Barn Inn like our chicken chipotle tostones and chorizo stuffed dates. The signature drink of the night was “The Bramble” – a plum-colored cocktail to match our brand! This simple and refreshing drink is a mix of vodka, blackberry liqueur, lemon, and simple syrup.
It was rewarding to see the excitement from all of our wedding and event professionals. We wanted to share some great questions that came up in discussion following our presentation.
Q: Will the restaurant be open during an event or wedding?
A: Yes, there is a smaller section of the restaurant, the annex, that has it’s own entrance and will provide restaurant service to restaurant patrons during a private event in the main dining area.
Q: What is included with the space for an event or wedding?
A: Restaurant chairs, restaurant farm tables, a dance floor, and real-flame candles on all guest and cocktail tables.
Q: Is there seating on the second level of the barn?
A: No, this space is for staff only but can be used used to add décor or custom lighting.
Q: Will the spa replace the need for a hair and/or makeup professional?
A: No! The spa will offer a location to relax and enjoy a massage, facial, foot-soak, and other beauty treatments, but will not take the place of a makeup professional.
Q: Will the couple have a getting ready suite for weddings?
A: Yes, the couple can choose to use the guest room they are staying in at our Inn, or access to two private suites in the Field House starting 2 hours before the wedding.
Q: Where will wedding ceremonies be located?
A: The spacious barn interior is perfect for indoor ceremonies. We are also working towards landscaping an outdoor ceremony option that could be used (weather permitting)!
Q: What does the flow of a typical wedding day look like?
A: The ceremony will be in the barn restaurant or at our outdoor location, followed by cocktail hour in the field house at the back of the property, and reception will be back in the barn restaurant.
Q: Do you offer roomblocks?
A: Yes, room blocks are available. We will also offer brunch options and rehearsal dinners for weddings.
